Wang Xisan， together with Liu Shouben and Li Kechang， founded the China Snuff Bottle Society， whereby Wang was elected as the first president of the society. When the current lot was presented to Wang Xisan， the artist recalled that he painted this particular snuff bottle to commemorate the official opening of the first China Snuff Bottle Society Convention held in Beijing in 1981.
