GRS report numbered GRS2014-091164, dated 10 September 2014, stating the sapphire is 17.57 carats, natural, Colour-changing from Violet (Daylight) to Purple ( Incandescent Light) colour, Sri Lankan origin, no indication of thermal treatment.
The needle-shaped inclusions of star rubies and sapphires are also known as 'silk'. They interact with light to present two or more crossing bright lines, creating a star-shaped on the surface of the gem. Gems with star effect phenomenon are usually more eye-catching and rare.
