A BRONZE WINE VESSEL, GU(Late Shang Dynasty, 12th Century BC-11th Century BC)

H: 32 cm.; Mouth D. 21.5cm.; Bottom D. 13cm.

This Gu vessel had a wide trumpet mouth, a straight body and a moulded foot. The neck was decorated with four parts of dragon pattern. The lower part was auspicious bird pattern, while the foot was large taotie mask with rising blades. There were cross-shaped holes on the foot. The vessel was reserved with leiwen ground.
