Yongzheng anhua-decorated stembowls of this form closely follow early Ming Yongle period prototypes echoing the Yongzheng Emperor’s aesthetic admiration of the ceramic tradition of the early Ming emperors. It also demonstrates a similar devotion to the Buddhist practices shown by the Yongle Emperor and the importance both Emperors attached to ritual ojects used in these practices.
