The present bowl is a continuation of a design first seen during the Kangxi period. A very similar Kangxi-marked bowl,in the Nanjing Museum is illustrated in Treasures in the Royalty,The Official Kiln Porcelain of the Chinese Qing Dynasty,Shanghai,2003,no.71. Another Kangxi bowl of this design was sold at Christie's Hong Kong,28 November 2006,lot 1532,and again at Sotheby’s Hong Kong,7 October 2015,lot 3724.
