Carefully worked and highly intricate, it is rare to find hanging basketweave-style incense holder and covers. See two rare and similar examples dated to the Ming dynasty, 16th-17th century in the collection of the Tokugawa Art Museum, Nagoya, illustrated in Karamono. Imported Lacquerwork.
