Cheng Huang,S.C.,a Malaysian born Queen's Counsel spent over 40 years forming a wide-ranging collection with Buddhist art at its core. Cheng Huan was exposed at an early age to many different faiths and values,having grown up in a Buddhist family that also equally embraced Daoism and Confucianism and attended a Christian school. An encounter with the crown Prince of Sikkim and several subsequent trips to the region sparked his interest in Tibetan Buddhism that would go on to be the focus of his collection.
His collection,formed over a number of decades was housed partly in Hong Kong and partly in Stockton House,his Elizabethan-period stately home in England.
