Provenance:
Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1980s

The large lion carved seated on its haunches on a large rectangular stepped base with triangular floral panels,the lion with one muscular foreleg raised gently resting on a cub at its feet,its head turned slightly to the left,its snarling expression with bulging eyes and large jaws agape beneath a finely delineated curled mane and a collar around its neck suspending a bell.
