This work is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity issued by Schoeni Art Gallery,Hong KongChen Ke was born in Tongjiang,China,graduated with MFA from the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts,Oil painting Department in 2005.She has become the representative of “Cartoon Generation” of Chinese contemporary Art for the 70s generation.
“The idea behind dying those beautiful bright colours on the photos,derived from some old hand-colored photographs,which are still preserved in the albums of some Chinese families.To me,the colors are symbolic of those splendid moments and experiences that one comes across in one’s life,like the adolescence for the example.I take photos of girls in order to cherish the adolescence forever.
The way I take those photographs also reflects on the way I look back on moments in life that have vanished.Like is transient,and beauty is fragile.Humans are vulnerable.I wish to solidify these ideas into my works.“
