Queen of the Sea
A conch pearl is a non-nacreous， calcareous concretion produced by the Queen Conch mollusk （Strombus gigas） which lives primarily in the Caribbean， starting near southern Florida and extending as far as Bahamas and Grenada. All Conch pearls are natural. Attempts to culture them have failed thus far. As a result， it remains one of the rarest pearls in the world. Conch pearls often exhibit a flame-like pattern， often referred to as its “flame structure，” describing the distinctive mottled surface.
The most desirable shape for conch pearls is oval. Conch pearls are highly valued for their beautiful color， symmetry， porcellaneous （porcelain-like） luster and attractive oval shape.
