The pendant set with a black opal weighing approximately 39.10 carats, inlayed with mother-of-pearl and enamel, to a cabochon tanzanite surmount decorated with brilliant-cut diamonds, the tanzanite weighing approximately 5.10 carats, pendant signed, mounted in 18 karat white gold.

Maki-e
Japanese traditional craftsmanship -“Maki-e”was first appeared in the Nara era （710~794）, the first progress is to outline the pattern with paint, followed with sprinkling gold powder, then repeated the progress of painting throughout the lacquer surface in order to fixate the gold powder. To smoother the surface, charcoal is adopted for polishing, displaying an intricate three-dimensional pattern.“Maki-e”is a unique crafting technique in Japan, sought after by top collectors and commonly found in high-end jewellery, watches and pens, etc.
