Thickly potted with shallow rounded sides supported on atapered foot leading to an everted rim, painted overall in underglazeblue. The center is decorated with a stylised lotus enclosedby bats and flowers, the cavetto with eight emblems, bajixiangsupported by lotus scrolls, the flat rim with cresting waves andthe underside with bats flying above waves and rocks, the basewith a six-character Imperial sealmark. _x000D_
The present dish is impressive for its size and design and thereappears to be no other similar example appears to have beenpublished. A large Yongzheng dish of this type, with melons andflowers, is illustrated in Chinese Porcelain, The S. C. Ko TianminlouCollection, no. 53.
