Finely-potted with shallow splaying sides, the exterior painted with six lotus blossoms issuing from evenly-interspersed leafy vine scrolls above a band of overlapping lotus lappets at the foot, the interior intricately decorated with a stylised six-petal flower medallion encircled with hardly-visible anhua floral decoration at the inner cavetto, the base with a six-character kaishu Imperial reign mark in underglaze blue._x000D_
It has been stated by porcelain connoisseurs that Ming porcelain from the Xuande period (1426-1435), is considered to be the pinnacle of blue-and-white porcelain production. The bowl boasts several standout features— an elegant shape with natural beautiful gradations of cobalt-blue tone, the lotus flower pattern is a classic representative of the early Ming dynasty. What is extremely rare about this piece is the inclusion of anhua slip-decorated floral scrolls adorning the interior, exquisitely finished and inscribed with the Xuande Imperial reign mark._x000D_
