TUTTI FRUTTI
Having commissioned by the Indian Royalties for refashioning some of their jewellery pieces, Jacques Cartier cast a profound Eastern exotic influence on their designs. Cartier boldly adopted using coloured gemstones, carving them to resemble natural floral and fruits motifs which were vastly adopted in India's high jewellery. In early 20th century, many of the Europeans and royalties were mesmerized by the Indian-inspired jewels and its exotic aesthetics. This new stylistic influence coupled with Cartier's search of rare Indian stones ultimately translated into some of the most inspired jewels ever created. Cartier's Tutti Frutti remained as one of the most iconic series to this day.
