NEW MINE AND "OLD MINE"
Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory Limited report numbered SJ186277-SJ186278, dated 26 June 2019, stating that the jadeites are natural, Intense Green colour, known in the trade as ‘A Jade’, jadeites measuring 14.83 x 9.25 x 6.11 and 14.78 x 9.13 x 5.97mm.
The essential difference between the new mine and the old mine jadeite is whether or not they have experienced the baptism of the great nature. The new mine jadeite are mainly found in the original ore, which formed only by geological pressure, so the texture is comparably rougher. On the contrary, the old mine jadeite was the product of secondary mines, which generally endured the 're-wash' process of water, wind and sandstorms. As a result, the texture is finer, with penetrating transparency, and more rarely with vivid and full colors. In recent years, there has been almost no output from old mines, the fine pieces are seldom seen on the market, and thus its strong uphold of value in today's market cannot be ignored.
