Flowing Eternity, Ejection of Dream
Liang Jen-hung's Transevolution

The meditation about nature, mechanics, and philosophy has always been the theme of Liang Jen-hung's creation. His stainless steel work has sleek surface and streaming lines, moreover, the internal world. In 2001, he won the landmark awards in the contemporary art circle of Taiwan, Taipei Art Awards, and Kaohsiung Awards. Liang once said, “ Those people who has compassion to the society shall not ignore the meaning of time exclusive to the human race, which is the speciality and character of time, also the power that can warm people's hearts. If there exists “eternity”, it would be “change”.” His ideas are confirmed in detail in the work, Transevolution 23AT1033-34.

In the work, artist creates a stainless steel whale, ejecting water upwards, and breathing freely. He presents the infinite energy that powers the life in a dynamic visual form. The huge ball on the top transfers the energy to the ball in the middle and the tail below via the precise streamline, strong and vigorous. The balls on the top and in the middle, together with the tail below could rotate separately. For every minute, every second, through the change, they reach a charming and balanced beauty. The work has light and flowing lines, yet it is made of the strong and hard stainless steel. The artist uses the heavy weight of the mechanics to present the lightness of the fluid. In the contrast between natural and human-made, light and heavy, the solid steel creates a sense of flowing power. All of these point out the ideology held by Liang, the energy that creates the world is some kind of fluid status that never stops working. The fluid is not only the energy, but also the changing natural world. Liang has shown us the rules of cosmonature with his unique “dynamic mechanics” art form.
