Invincible Youthfulness Surfing on Time Tide
Contemporary Artistic Statement of No2good

No2good, also known as Chen Po-Liang, has a penchant for art since he was a child. He graduated from School of Design at Taiwan Normal University in 2000. Inspired by the American graffiti artist Keith Haring, No2good has created his artworks in humorous and lively art forms. In 2007, he co-founded the fashion brand STAYREAL with Shin, the lead singer of Mayday. In 2008, as a response to the fact that many Asian students miss out the joy of teenage life due to school pressure, No2good designed the classic Mousy, which has been exhibited in many cities including Venic, Seoul, Shanghai and Hong Kong.  In China Guardian Hong Kong's 2020 Autumn Auction, his Super Mousy sold at a high price of nearly 300,000 HKD and brought up heated discussions. This time, he's back with another sculpture Juggling Bunny (Lot 13), and an acrylic on canvas piece Bluffing (Lot 14).

Never Give Up, a Manifesto of Youth
The 148cm high sculpture Juggling Bunny was executed in 2018. The bunny has the similar outfit as “mousy”——she's wearing glasses because of stressful school work, one of her ears is covered in bandage due to punishment for being intractable. She's lying on a mirror with one of her feet going up to support an up-side-down chair in the air like she's juggling. While there's a yellow mini man sitting on one of the chair's legs, eating Popsicle and enjoying the show. The bunny's face shows that she's afraid of making mistakes, and her body is in a challenging posture that catches everyone's attention. The funny and captivating Juggling Bunny is a metaphor of how modern people socialize through live streaming and photo sharing on the Internet. Second thought regards the convenience of Internet was provoked: how to deal with privacy?

Though the bunny looks sweet wearing a white outfit with pinky ears, she breaks the stereotype of how bunnies should be mild by going beyond her limits. Though bandage covers her ear, she still tries to lift up her leg. The determination of self-challenging is quite touching.

Fearless Boy on Canvas
No2good is not only famous for his sculpture, but also widely praised for his graphic art. Bluffing is one of the outstanding examples. He broke the boundary of graphic art by sticking to his classical artistic language, which is using the edges of polygon as the frame to make it looks like three-dimensional. At the center of the canvas, the naughty mousy stares at the audience. “Salon Boy” and a hair dryer over his head make it looks like a shop window that people can look into. He looks professional with scissors in his left hand and the hair dryer in his right hand. However, from another perspective, the mousy is facing the changing world fearlessly, holding weapon-like scissors and a shield-like hair dryer.
