99×54.5×80 cm (38 1/2×21 1/2×31 1/2 in)
The thumb-molded members of the rectangular top frame are echoed by the slightly concave outward-facing sides of the thick squared legs. The legs are tenoned directly into the top-frame and secured by a plain apron with rounded spandrels as well as by corner S-braces angled diagonally from the corners into two transverse braces on the underside of the table-top.
The curvilinear braces are tucked high-almost 'hidden'-in the corners of the table-top. Although they give the effect of spatial lightness and deceptive instability, the braces function as the strengthening structure between the top and the legs. Some similar examples may actually have been converted from halved square tables; this is usually apparent from the awkward curve of the braces, or some other indication of amendment at the transverse.
