Hear the Wind Sings, in a Journey Along the Universe
Jing Zhiyong's World

"I paint a world of dreams, hopes and absurdities."
——Jing Zhiyong

As a highly sought-after young artist of the millennial generation, Jing Zhiyong has published his works on social platforms Instagram and Tiktok since 2018. His works often soldout within seconds of release, which also accumulated him millions of fans. And the internet highly praised him as a "mysterious internet celebrity painter". His works are not only reminiscent of the alienated life experiences in the works of American artist Edward Hopper, but also have a sense of surreal absurdity from works of Rene Margritte. This spring auction presents his two importnat pieces Mementos and White Tree . Both were completed in 2021, presenting the artist's diverse creative abilities with two different narrative aspects.

Important Representatives of the Artist Space Series

"The series of space and astronauts is my favorite creative clue, because it is different from the world we are familiar with. It can extend the imagination on a surreal level, and it is human nature to explore new worlds. I always believe that when away from light years, facing loneliness The starry sky and the blue planet, maybe we can understand and love this world in a better way.”
——Jing Zhiyong

From Jing's most popular Space series, Momentos depicts the unforgettable moments of astronauts landing on outer space planets. The protagonist is dressed in a spacesuit and stands firmly on his feet in an unknown new territory. A light flashed above him, like the flash of a camera, symbolizing the traces of human landing. Here, the artist uses blue, black and white to paint the vast sky, the continuous landscape of mysterious planets, and the astronauts who is embarking on a new journey. Although the theme is grand and full of ambition, it demonstrates the exciting moment when human beings break through their own limitations with delicate and tender brushstrokes and perspectives, directly touching people's hearts.

Fresh and Humorous Perspective, Focusing on Modern Society Issues

In White Tree, Jing Zhiyong showed his unique perspective to humanistic issues in contemporary culture - under the clear and white clouds, a Muslim leader in white robe Chatting casually with a Jewish Gabbi, who is in a top hat and suit. Just like the two big trees next to them. They come from different seeds but can still support each other, expressing the artist's vision for a better world. However, there is a "third person" lying under the tree, providing a mysterious angle for the peaceful scene. The unknown identity is left to people's imagination It expounds the serious theme of "religion" in a light-hearted and humorous language, which makes it a notable work out of the artist's creation.
