Unleash My Superpowers!
The Creative Manifesto of Lei Xiao Han

Lei Xiao Han is a young artist born in Guangxi in 1996. She enrolled at Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts in 2015 and immediately received a first-prize scholarship. During her formative years, Lei was influenced by the world of cartoons and incorporated imagination into her creations. Her works feature spirits that blend humans and animals as protagonists, each having a unique life story.

During her studies in the ancient city of Xi’an, she immersed herself in the rich traditional art atmosphere, honing a keen sense of colour perception that infuses her works with a poetic aura. Her sculptures, often crafted from wood, bear the traces of time and warmth accumulated through meticulous carving and polishing.

Upon graduating in 2020, she was awarded the Wang Ziyun Art Award for excellence and selected for the exhibition Zeng Zhushao Sculpture Art Scholarship, showcasing the art world’s recognition of her talent. Lei Xiao Han has also exhibited her works multiple times in Taipei, Shanghai, and other cities, gaining considerable attention.

Fight on, Mischievous Angel!

The presented Mischievous Angel draws inspiration from the Scottish novel character Peter Pan, known for his insatiable curiosity about the world, perpetual youth, and flying ability. Peter Pan’s archetype includes the horned god of shepherds in Greek mythology.

Lei Xiao Han seamlessly combines these influences into a character——a boy with horn-like protrusions on his head, dressed in a baby pink onesie. Despite the appearance of innocence, he raises his arms in a determined, fist-clenched stance, with a flowing cape behind him. His intense gaze and mischievous grin suggest a dynamic and threatening combat posture, creating a vivid and intriguing character. This portrayal embodies both softness within and outward strength, showcasing the ability to fight for one’s dreams.

Lei Xiao Han expertly employs acrylic, pastel colours, and oil pastels to construct a sculpture with a multi-layered and ethereal texture. The protagonist’s facial features are exquisitely delicate, softly painted with a subtle pink hue, while their lustrous golden hair radiates in the sunlight.

The cape is a stunning blend of dreamy blue-green shades and warm orange gradients, with hand-painted strokes and engraved marks combined to create intricate patterns that imbue the sculpture with a palpable warmth. These details guide the protagonist towards a future that is resolute and full of promise.
