A Bronze ‘Lions’ Penholder and A Bronze ‘Toad’ lncense Holder

銅制筆架,鎏金,大獅蹲臥,額頭生角,瞠目昂首,雄視生威。背部俯臥一隻幼獅,回首作警覺態。因“獅”與“事”、“嗣”諧音,所以歷史中長以象徵著“事事如意”的雙獅幷行,如表示“好事不斷”的獅佩綬帶,以及祝願子嗣昌盛的雌雄獅子伴幼獅等。古人以大獅小獅諧稱“太師少師”,祈願榮登三公高位,官運亨通。此器或可作筆擱,精巧古拙,底座合宜,甚雅致。或可作擺件,於幾案賞玩。
銅制香插,造型為蟾蜍距地而坐,一足前伸作爬行狀,扭軀曳足,股肌彈力內蓄,似有引而待發之勢,蟾背後及雙目周緣瘰鬁嶙峋。其背端坐一仙人,仙人頭束兩髻,著漢式廣袖寬袍,神態靜謐安詳,饒有清風古韻,身後葫蘆製成水柱。傳說劉海收服了千年的金蟾,民間有“劉海戲金蟾,一步一吐錢”之說,此件既是以此為題。
