While this year marks the 10th anniversary of China Guardian (HK), our Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art Department is pleased to present "No Good Thing Ever Dies: Jing Zhiyong Exhibition" from 11 to 29 July at China Guardian (HK) G Art Gallery, showcasing 50 artworks by the artist since 2018. Jing Zhiyong (IG: Jingzhiyong) has over 1 million followers on social media platforms such as Instagram and Douyin and this is his first solo exhibition in Hong Kong.
Jing Zhiyong is one of the most celebrated contemporary artists in China in recent years. Graduating from the Oil Painting Department of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 2005, Jing has published and managed his works by himself on Instagram since 2018. With a peaceful tone, a sense of black humour, exquisite perception, as well as inspiration from movie scenes, Jing incorporated dramatic tension into his artworks which fascinate collectors worldwide.
"No Good Thing Ever Dies: Jing Zhiyong Exhibition" will showcase artworks from Jing's Space, Film and Tribute to Edward Hopper series. Meanwhile, China Guardian (HK) will present signed prints of Goodbye, limited to 100 editions, in collaboration with the artist. Goodbye originated from Jing's Goodbye 2021 in the renowned Christmas series.
