The flared cup supported on a stem foot,the straight long handle linked to the cup with an arched support and terminating at the opposing end in a broad, slightly convex grip.
This type of long-handled censer is discussed by Bo Gyllensvard in Tang Gold and Silver,Bulletin of Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities,no. 29,London,1957, pp. 88-89. A related censer in the British Museum Collection was illustrated in Buddhism,Art and Faith,London,1985,cat,no. 293.
