20.5cm×21.5cm×10cmcm (8 1/8×8 1/2×3 7/8 in)

Exquisitely made of zitan wood, comprised of two arm rests of different sizes and shapes, designed for the doctor to read the patient’s impulse. The upper one in the form of a stool, the lower one in the form of table of standard floating-panel top secured by a wide frame with molded and beaded edge above the plain aprons with shaped spandrels, all supported by the paired recessed legs secured by parallel cross-braces.
Wang Shixiang mentioned in his book Connoisseurship of Chinese Furniture: Ming and Early Qing Dynasties that there was a very small stool in the traditional Chinese furniture which was usually less than one chi in length and three cun in height. It was not used as a seat but a pillow.
