China Guardian 2017 Spring Auctions
Second day in the accumulative total reached RMB 2.689 billion
As if to rival the heat wave that struck Beijing, feverish bidding for much coveted lots dominated yesterday’s China Guardian 2017 Spring Auctions. The first auction day that had set a new record in the history of auctions in Asia was followed by equally impressive results achieved on the second day, the accumulative total of which reached RMB 2.689 billion (USD 394 million).
The lots in three particular sessions, namely Collection of Pu Ru’s Painting and Calligraphy, Painting Collection in Zhenshangzhai Studio and Hermes Handbags and Accessories, were sold out to achieve a sale rate of 100%. Modern Chinese Painting and Calligraphy and Gold and Silver Antiques even shot through the threshold of RMB 100 million. Sales at other sessions such as Splendor of Imperial Art, Buddhist Art, Zisha, Furniture, Seal Art, Manuscripts and Autographs were no less exciting either.
