Made of huanghuali wood, 181 centimeters high, the rounded top frame overhanging supported by four three-lobed melon style corner posts at each corner, the attractively grained, matched doors cut from the same section of wood. Inside the cabinet are three compartments, one shelf which rests on the dovetailed transverse braces of the side panels, one lower section which constitutes a shelf and two drawers with huangtong plates and pulls, with a delicate flower-shaped apron beneath the shaped stretcher below the doors, tongue-and-grooved into the legs and butt-joined to the underside of the stretcher. Similarly shaped aprons are on the sides, rectangular brass plates curved and shaped to fit the door frame members with square lock receptacles and shaped door pulls. The stand has two drawers supported by four slightly splayed legs double tenoned to the top. The original clay and lacquer coating remain almost completely intact on the back.
